11th International Open Marina Viva of Purtichju – Corsican Circuit 2026
Article 1 : As part of the Corsican Circuit 2026, the Corsica Chess Club organizes the 11th International Open Marina Viva of Purtichju from Saturday 27 June 2026 to Friday 3 July 2026 at the Hotel Club Marina Viva in Purtichju. Three tournaments are organised: Tournament A for players rated over 1900 Elo (with norm possibilities), Tournament B for players rated under 2000 Elo and a Youth Tournament for players under 14 years old and rated under 1400 Elo. Players whose rating falls below 1900 Elo between registration and the start of the tournament may remain in Tournament A. The tournament is FIDE rated and norm-eligible.
Article 2 : The FIDE Laws of Chess shall apply. Pairings are produced with the P.A.P.I. program using the Swiss System. The June 2026 FIDE rating list shall be used for pairings. Internet pairings are indicative only. The official pairing is the one displayed in the playing hall one hour before the start of the round.

Article 4 : The tournament consists of 9 rounds. Time control: 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment from move one.
Article 5 : Draws by mutual agreement are forbidden. Byes are not permitted.

Article 7 – Registration fees:
Adults: €60. Young players: €30. WFM/FM/IM/WIM/WGM/GM free of charge.
Registration is limited to 250 players in the first two tournaments. Registration closes on 27 June 2026 at 12:00 for inclusion in Round 1. Round 1 pairings will be published at 15:00.
Prize list: see annex.
In the Over-1900 and Under-2000 tournaments, each player may receive only one prize. If a player qualifies for several prizes, the order of priority shall be: (1) Overall ranking; (2) Rating prize; (3) Senior 65+ prize; (4) Women’s prize; (5) Corsican prize.
Prize payments shall be made exclusively by bank transfer. Prize winners must provide their bank account details (IBAN/BIC or equivalent) and any information necessary to complete the payment. No cash payments shall be made.
Article 8 : Tie-breaks shall be applied in the following order: 1. Buchholz Cut-2; 2. Buchholz; 3. Performance. Buchholz values shall be calculated using the FIDE-recommended method. The official final ranking shall be the one published on Chess-Results.
Article 9 :
- If a player arrives more than 30 minutes late, the game is lost unless the Chief Arbiter decides otherwise.
- Mobile phones must be switched off.
- Any improper behaviour, including outside the playing venue or accommodation, may be penalised.
- Proper dress is required.
- A player forfeiting a game without informing the arbiter shall be considered to have withdrawn from the tournament.
- Unjustified withdrawals will be reported to the French Chess Federation (FFE) for French players and to the relevant national federation for foreign players.
Article 10 : Chief Arbiter: Stéphane Escafre (IA). Assistant Arbiters: Guillaume Gerandi (IA), Cyril Humeau (IA), Gérald Murcia (FA), Guillaume Paoli (NA). Any other person appointed by the Chief Arbiter may assist him when required.
Article 11 : All participants undertake to comply with these Tournament Regulations.
