On Sunday, July 6, 2025, Quenza, a gem of the Alta Rocca in Southern Corsica, will host the 14th edition of the International Blitz Open. This prestigious tournament, featuring 9 rounds with a time control of 5 minutes + 3 seconds per move, will bring together top-level players in an exceptional setting.

With a total prize pool of €20,000 and no entry fee, this Open stands as one of the most attractive tournaments on the circuit. A simultaneous exhibition for a memorable experience
As a prelude to the tournament, on Saturday 5 July at 5pm, the village square will host a session of simultaneous games led by two exceptional champions: Hou Yifan, multiple world champion, Marc’Andria Maurizzi, junior world champion and the youngest Grand Master in the history of French chess, and Almira Skripchenko, European champion and seven-time French champion. It’s a unique opportunity for chess enthusiasts to test themselves against renowned players in a friendly atmosphere.
